Professional Development Opportunity for Community Leaders – 2013
The application for the 2013 Community Solutions Program is now open. This is the third round of the Community Solutions Program<http://www.irex.org/project/community-solutions>, a professional development program for the best and brightest global community leaders working in Transparency & Accountability, Tolerance & Conflict Resolution, Environmental Issues, and Women & Gender Issues. Selected candidates will participate in: a four month U.S. fellowship with a local nonprofit organization or government agency; structured virtual learning and networking via the Online Community Leadership Institute; and, the design and implementation of follow-on projects in their home countries.
In 2011, WOUGNET Information and Youth ICT4D Officer, Moses Owiny participated in the Community Solutions Program and worked for a period of 4 months at the YWCA of Genesee County in Batavia, New York, United States. He has since been championing the WOUGNET communication strategies and strategic use of ICTs for youth in Uganda.
Citizens from 56 countries are eligible to participate in the program. Attached is the Program Flier for interested applicants. The application deadline is Wednesday, October 31, 2012.
