Enhancing the adoption of web 2.0 skills for youth in Uganda

A three days training organized by WOUGNET in partnership with CTA  on web 2.0 and social media started on the 24th -26th February 2015  and was such  a huge success as various participants from different parts of the region and Institutions attended and by the end of third day, real success stories were registered.

The training was meant to equip participants on knowledge about ICT4Dev, Web 2.0 and Social Media. Web 2.0 is a term that clusters applications that have facilitated new forms of interactions, document & Photo sharing, for both Institutional and personal growth. By the end of the training all participants had created online accounts on the various social Medias for both their personal and Institutional use.

During the training various applications such as how to use RSS Feeds, Wikis, Google talk, Flickr & Picassa, LinkedIn, Blogging etc and questions were discussed, applicants got hands on the practical.

At the end of the training, closing remarks were made by the  WOUGNET Program  Manager  for Gender and ICT Policy Advocacy,  Ms. Goretti Amuriat who thanked all participants for their tireless efforts to complete the training and also handed them their certificates.
