MozFest House Zambia will take place in Lusaka, Zambia from 20th – 21st November 2024, bringing together digital rights activists, tech professionals, and community leaders to address the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation across Africa. Hosted by Mozilla, this regional MozFest aims to spotlight African perspectives on digital inclusion, AI ethics, and digital rights, with sessions exploring issues such as gender justice, data privacy, and digital accessibility.
Under the theme of building a trustworthy and inclusive digital future, WOUGNET will host an interactive session titled “Africa’s Elections vs Gendered Disinformation: What is it for Women in Politics?”. During this session, the panel will explore the alarming rise of gendered disinformation across Africa where female politicians face disproportionate online abuse while sharing practical insights, strategies, and tools to monitor and fact-check disinformation, the session aims to foster collective actions for sustainable solutions.
