🌍 Accra, Ghana: ICNL hosted a vibrant discussion at #DRIF24 reflecting on AI and other emerging technologies and their impact on #civilsociety.

The panel discussion featured #OHCHR, Paradigm Initiative, Women of Uganda Network, and African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, who provided perspectives on how CSOs are using #AI in advocacy and outreach initiatives but noted increasing threats of AI use by state security agencies to target independent voices.

Participants welcomed the ongoing continental efforts to advance frameworks to improve AI governance and call for increased involvement of CSOs in the policy development processes. #DRIF24
