In 2011 marked WOUGNET’s transition phase with Hivos who provided core funding for the transition period, we were able to undertake activities under the three program areas, in all reaching out to out target beneficiaries – female and male. To address its challenge of limited resources/ challenges in raising core funding for our operations as well as in obtaining member feedback on application of ICTs in their various activities – particularly so from our online communities,
WOUGNET embarked on robust fundraising from other partners to leverage this challenge WOUGNET has remained visible as a key player in the arena of ICTs for Development, and with our niche in addressing gender concerns. In this regards, staff have been invited and facilitated to participate in various national and international events that have also served to enhance WOUGNET’s visibility. New partnerships have also been developed, and it is expected that in the new program cycle 2011 – 2013, such partnerships will result in projects on the ground.
This annual report of 2011 presents WOUGNET in the first year of the three year program 2011 – 2013 in which a variety of activities were conducted with support from Hivos as well as other funding partners including SPIDER, UCC and 1%club.
