Grass-root Women’s Association for Development (GWAD)

GWAD is a registered non-profit making, Non-Governmental Organization operating in Northern Uganda. It’s an independent body with its Headquarter in Gulu District, was established in 1998 and aims at improving the livelihood of women and children in Northern Uganda. It was founded to address the suffering of women and children who have adversely been affected by the armed conflicts in Northern Uganda. GWAD focuses on empowering women so that they are enabled to face the challenges with confidence ability. It works closely with the Gulu District NGOs forum, the Government of Uganda, others NGOs, CBOs and FBOs with similar objectives. GWAD foundation is on the phrase that, “Happy Woman Happy Nation”
